CloudFabrix, the inventor of Robotic Data Automation Fabric and the Data-centric AIOps pioneer was named a Leader and Innovator and one of only two Outperformers in the 2023 GigaOm Radar survey for AIOps. This is the third time CloudFabrix has been recognized in those categories.

Shailesh Majrekar, CMO, CloudFabrix, said, “This year, we hit it out of the park to be recognized as one of the only two Outperformers among 30 other very respectable contenders. This is a testimony to our team’s vision & ability to execute.”

The report defines Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations (AIOps) as a collection of “technologies that automate, identify, and resolve IT issues. Additionally, it can predict and automatically resolve concerns before they become problems.”

Let’s expand on that definition before we look at GigaOm’s analysis of the AIOps market.

Why AIOps and Why Now?

AIOps became a must-have as a response to an increasingly complex IT environment and the demand for robust and efficient operations that secure and streamline IT and business processes.

Gartner came up with two distinct categories of AIOps- domain-centric and domain-agnostic, employed in the GigaOm Radar report for AIOps. The former may make existing tools redundant or replaced, while the latter layers over existing systems without introducing redundancy.

Domain-centric AIOps tools work on homogenous, first-party datasets and leverage AI capabilities for specific and narrow use cases. For instance, Incident Management vendors who later applied AI/ML to incident use cases fall under domain-centric AIOps vendors as they ease a specific pain in the organization.

Domain-agnostic AIOps vendors access historical and current data from across the organization in diverse formats and then optimize the IT infrastructure for performance and resilience. Domain-agnostic AIOps do alleviate a specific issue and bring strategic outcomes for organizations by bridging the gap between Operation awareness(IT) and business awareness (Line of Business) functions.

AIOps helps sift through the volume of noisy and redundant signals that overwhelm IT operations teams daily. AIOps enables faster incident response, deduplicates data, correlates it, enriches it and finds patterns to make IT operations highly efficient.

The GigaOm Radar report succinctly calls AIOps the awareness in an organization. It is an integral component of operational awareness and, by extension, organizational awareness.

GigaOm Radar Report & Analysis for AIOps

MOA (Monitoring, Observability, Awareness)

AIOps elevates operational and organizational awareness by combining data and information from across the board to improve root cause analysis, prediction, and automated remediation, reducing the mean time to resolution (MTTR).

GigaOm Radar report identifies three critical pieces to achieving organizational awareness-

  • Monitoring– A function to track the state of a single system and its metrics. Monitoring helps fix whatever breaks in an IT environment.
  • Observability– A function that combines the state of many systems and discovers their health in an integrated fashion. Observability helps assess the behavior of a system within the IT context to prevent incidents.
  • Awareness or AIOps– A function that brings all the information about several systems together to evaluate the OK-ness of IT operations and business (people and processes). AIOps informs that everything is okay, what is most likely to break next and how to address issues before they get flagged by monitoring or observability.

GigaOm’s Analysis of CloudFabrix Data-centric AIOps Platform

CloudFabrix’s data-centric AIOps approach combines observability, AIOps and automation with a low-code environment. CloudFabrix is well-suited for all three market segments- SMBs, large enterprises and MSPs.

Here’s what’s notable about CloudFabrix data-centric AIOps platform

  • The data collection process is robust with OpenTelemetry support and CloudFabrix’s RDA bots and observability pipelines.
  • The low-code/no-code pipelines are integrated around collaboration, ChatOps, ITSM, and workflow automation.
  • AutoML is a part of robotic data collection and pipelines.
  • Composability lies at the foundation, allowing users to customize and create their own dashboards.
  • Predictive analytics is built into the platform and can help perform trending, seasonality, anomaly detection, forecasting and prediction, and seven-day KPI forecasting. However, the solution can predict a year in advance given the right amount of data.
  • Complete customization of the ML model, using a different model or customizing the model is possible.
  • The solution supports multicloud and hybrid cloud environments alongside private-cloud remote/branch/edge environments. It also lends single-pane visibility into multicloud data.
  • The generative AI assistant offers an additional method of querying the environment.
